She went on to earn her M.Ed. in Special Education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She is the Executive Director and Lead Educator for Our Mother of Perpetual Help Educational Program since its founding in 2014. A Texas native, Mrs. Lewis has had a love for God’s special children her entire life. Her mom describes her as a child who always played with and paid attention to those children often forgotten by others. Since 2011, Mrs. Lewis has worked as a private educator for several families who have children with Down Syndrome, including Dr. and Mrs. McGehee. She is married to Zachary and raises longhorn cattle on their ranch in Glen Rose. She and Zachary are guardians to a very special young man with Down Syndrome. She received an M.A. certificate in Family Mediation from Abilene Christian University in Abilene. Mrs. Holland-Carter has taught for 22 years for Plano ISD and a total of 33 years in various positions, all but 5 of those working with students with special needs. Nicole began her involvement with special needs students as a junior in high school, working in various elementary schools as part of a major study program at Plano Senior High School.
